There's so much to do for younger readers at East Riding Libraries, from regular groups, to special events and reading challenges.
Prepare to go on adventures with pirates and princesses, battle dragons and cast spells, become a sports champion or learn about the dark ages and the wonders of science. There's no end to the possibilities with books! But we're more than just books here at East Riding Libraries, so read on and discover all the magic available at your local library.
Discover the fun of coding! You can work on your own projects at home by borrowing a Micro:bit, or you can come along to our free after school Code Clubs. Learning to code means you can make websites, robots, musical instruments and so much more! Where will your imagination take you?
Ready, Set, Read! Can you read six books throughout the school summer holidays? Take part in this year's summer reading challenge with East Riding Libraries.
The answers are at your fingertips! If you need to research, use your library membership number to access lots of online reference and research sites for free. You can also use free Wi-Fi or computers at your local library, and print or scan. Find out more on the Learning and Study page.

Going through a lot and don't know where to turn? Try our Shelf Help books.
Bookstart is the world's first national book gifting programme. Bookstart gifts free books to all children in England and Wales at two key ages before school to help families read together every day. Every child is entitled to a free Bookstart pack at 0-12 months and 3-4 years. You'll find amazing pages for all the family, including interactive storybooks, booklists, bookfinders, activities and much more. There are also packs for children with additional needs. Sign up at anytime by visiting your local library.

Yum, aren't board books tasty? Ummm, maybe not. But we understand that our tiny readers sometimes like to find out for themselves. If your baby handles borrowed books a little roughly, we won't mind. To avoid minor damage fees, borrow board and picture books on your child's junior membership library card and we won't charge.
Search our catalogue for parenting books on pregnancy, sleeping, feeding and more. We also have a range of 'situation books' to help you and your child through the new experiences, such as the first trip to the dentist. You can also download Mother and Baby magazine for free with East Riding Libraries eMagazines.
Special visits to libraries for nurseries and play groups can be arranged by appointment. Contact your branch library to discuss details.
From interactive storytime to learning to code on computers, we've got events to explore, enjoy and experience with East Riding Libraries.
